The Allure of Factory Butte

Located just a short drive from the town of Hanksville, Factory Butte is a remarkable geological formation that rises dramatically from the surrounding desert floor. The butte is surrounded by vast stretches of open land, making it an ideal launch point for paramotoring.

Why Factory Butte?

- Scenic Views: As you take to the skies, you'll be treated to panoramic views of the butte itself, the rugged terrain of the West Desert, and the distant Henry Mountains. The contrast of the deep blues of the sky against the earthy tones of the landscape creates an unforgettable backdrop. - Ideal Conditions: The weather in this region is typically stable, with consistent winds that are perfect for paramotoring. Early mornings or late afternoons are particularly ideal for flying, as the temperatures are cooler, and the winds are calmer.

The shadows cast by the setting sun create a magical atmosphere that is best appreciated from the air. - Wildlife Spotting: While soaring above the park, keep an eye out for the local wildlife. While I was out photographing landscapes of Utah, I met up with SASK Paramotor out of Saskatchewan Canada. These guys were the best. They gave me coffee and muffins NOT once but twice and even cooked me breakfast. If you need any advice about this sport I highly recommend talking to them. They are a super nice group of guys. Catch them in Utah if you can!
